We Like the Feeling of Being Understood

Your ability to sense is just as important as your ability to rationalize. Empathy will, in the long run, pay you richer dividends than will intelligence.

Would you prefer to work with someone who is really intelligent and loves to demonstrate that or with someone who is highly empathic and demonstrates that well? Most of us will lean toward the empathic. We like knowing we’ve been heard. We like knowing that someone “gets” us. We like the feeling of being understood.
